In crisis or thinking about suicide? Call or text 988 (US), any time. In danger right now, call 911.

Home / Get help now

You reached out. That matters.

If you're thinking about suicide, or you're afraid you might hurt yourself or someone else, please talk to someone now. It's free, confidential, and open all day and night.

In immediate danger, or someone has taken an overdose or is hurt: call 911. Poison Control: 1-800-222-1222.

If you're in a dark place right now

  1. You don't have to act on these thoughts. Intense feelings rise and they do pass, even when it doesn't feel like they will.
  2. Put distance between you and anything you could use to hurt yourself. Give it to someone, lock it away, or go to a different room or place.
  3. Don't stay alone if you can help it. Call someone, go where there are people, or call or text 988 and stay on the line.
  4. Slow your body down. Breathe with the orb for one minute: two breaths in, one long breath out.
  5. Get through the next hour. Just the next hour. Then the next.

If you've made a safety plan, open it now and follow it step by step.
