Where this comes from

A core tool of cognitive behavioral therapy.

Thought records are one of the central skills in CBT, a therapy with Strong evidence evidence for depression and anxiety. The goal isn't to “think positive.” It's to notice when stress bends our thinking — and to look at the whole picture.

Tips

  • Do it on paper or here, whichever you'll actually do.
  • Feelings often drop only a little — 70 to 55 is a real win.
  • Patterns show up after a few tries. Notice which traps visit you most.
